Lost EWPA Yellowcard?

If you have lost your Yellowcard or your details have changed simply email the Elevating Work Platform Association with your full name (and change of details) on info@ewpa.com.au .

Why do I need to be trained to use an Elevating work Platform?
OH&S Acts throughout Australia state the need for training of operators of EWP’s to ensure employees and employers meet their “duty of care”. The EWPA has in place a nationally recognised operator training program also known as the “Yellow Card”. This involves a structured training program covering safety, hazard evaluation, pre-operational checks, operation of the various types of ewp’s and more. It is carried out by EWPA Accredited Trainers who are all nationally accredited workplace trainers.

The Occupational Health and Safety (Certification of Plant Users and Operators) Regulations 1994 define a boom-type Elevating Work Platform as:

"A powered telescoping device, hinged device or articulated device or any combination of these used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work and which has a boom length of 11 metres or more”.

The boom length of an elevating work platform is the greater of:

(a) The vertical distance from the floor of the platform to the support surface at its maximum height; or
(b) The nominal reach, measured horizontally, from the centre point of rotation to the outer edge of the platform in its most extended position.
